Diving below the liminal threshold into the subconscious, Amanda will share how she employs the knowledge held in the physical body to create a series of work. In the process, she will introduce the use of the tjanting tool as a divining rod of sorts to tap into the inner language of symbols and line-work.

This hour long video focuses on intuitive process, working in a series, and creating line-work of internal symbology with the tjanting tool. The biggest focus here will be utilizing the tjanting tool in various ways to embed and add raised layers.

Supply List

* Basic encaustic setup including hot palette, brushes, medium, paint and scrapers.

* Tjanting tool (manual, not electric) multiple tjanting tools is great but not required.

Optional: 

* Bamboo reed pen (hollow stylus)

* Stabilo Woodies or watercolor crayons

* Ink
