Studio Joy’s First Guest Instructor: Kim Shirk

Kim Shirk is just one of those people that nurtures creativity in others. I first met her at the Joy Journal Project monthly gatherings and am so grateful. Kim is a Certified Zentangle® Teacher, so I am so excited to have her share the Zentangle® Method.

Urban Dictionary defines Zen as: One way to think of zen is this: a total state of focus that incorporates a total togetherness of body and mind. Zen is a way of being. It also is a state of mind. Zen involves dropping illusion and seeing things without distortion created by your own thoughts.

I think this fits so well with Zentangle. As the process begins, the mind and body go to that awesome right-brained place where time no longer exists.
